Kaféstol

These café chairs were created for a restarant called Strömsholm in Norrköping 1906. The restaurant and most of the chairs were destroyed by a fire in 1939. The chairs were made by Gemla factory. They were made of bent wood of birch, stained in black, the seats were cocered with green leather. There is ine "café" chair in Nordiska museet in Stockholm. All together there remain less than twelve chairs. This chair is one of the most important icons of Swedish furniture of the twentieth century.
